Rotary Youth Exchange Insurance Coverage Plan
ALL INBOUND Students (of all RI exchange programs) have to enroll with the German insurance company HanseMerkur Versicherung AG prior to leaving their home country. The insurance meets all the requirements of Rotary International. It’s a travel health, liability, accident and emergency insurance.
Which types of insurance are obligatory?
According to RI exchange program regulations it is obligatory for ALL STUDENTS to enroll in BOTH the Travel health insurance AND the LIABILITY, ACCIDENT and EMERGENCY Insurance.
LONGTERM Inbounds (LTEP): Enroll for 365 days starting with the day of departure in your home country. The annual premium is 460,00€ (as of Nov 2023)
SHORTTERM Inbounds (STEP, NGSE, CAMP): Enroll for the number of days of your exchange starting with the day of departure in your home country, ending with the arrival day back in your home country. The daily premium for up to max. 92 days is 1,15€/day (as of Nov 2022)
How to enroll online for your insurance cover?
The enrollment procedure is online. Please click below on the number of your German HOST DISTRICT (YOUR host district number can be found on your Guarantee Form) and follow the instructions of HanseMerkur-Versicherung AG on the following websites. In case of minors the contract is between the insurance company and the natural parents, in all other cases it’s a direct contract between Inbound student and insurance company. Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully. Once you have successfully completed the enrollment procedure and the payment is processed you will receive an insurance confirmation by email. Please forward your insurance confirmation to your hosts prior to departing from home.
Outbound Versicherung
NUR wenn Euer Gastdistrikt im Ausland KEINE EIGENE Versicherung verbindlich vorschreibt, dann schließt bitte über diese Webseite der HanseMerkur die verpflichtende Auslands-Kranken- UND Haftpflicht, Unfall- und Notfallversicherung ab (Konditionen wie oben beschrieben). Um die Versicherung abzuschließen, wählt bitte unten Euren deutschen SPONSOR DISTRIKT aus.
